John Lee

John’s lifelong interest in health and healing has been guided by his passion and dedication to the martial arts.  He studied kung fu extensively under Master Lucky Chan and Tai Chi under Master Nelson Yu.

As a teenager, John suffered a debilitating martial arts related back injury; he was barely able to walk.  After receiving an acupressure/reflexology treatment from a Japanese trained healer, he was immediately able to resume his rigorous martial arts training.  His body’s quick response to the healing session inspired John, in 1982, to pursue training with the healer, and he completed an intensive five year acupressure/reflexology apprenticeship with him.  To further his training, John became a Certified Massage Therapist in 1986, and subsequently opened his own healing practice in 1988.  In 2004, he co-founded the Tao Center for Healing.

As a dedicated martial artist, John believes the key to vibrant health and wellness is balancing one’s chi (life force energy) through daily exercise and eating nutritious foods.  He believes ill health and disease arise from imbalances in one’s chi.  Clients see John for a wide variety of health related physical and emotional issues.  John’s expertise is to locate the origin of his client’s energy blocks and then to restore the circulation of his client’s chi using his unique blend of acupressure/reflexology and energy techniques.

John’s foremost goal is to facilitate the body’s innate capacity to heal itself.
